An exhibition of the outstanding Ukrainian artist "Ivan Marchuk. Awakening" is launching at the Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv

Starting from August 6, everyone will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the works of the People's Artist of Ukraine Ivan Marchuk – a brilliant creator, philosopher of the brush, laureate of the Shevchenko National Prize, and the inventor of the unique painting technique "pliontanism", whose art has long become a cultural symbol of Ukraine around the world.

The exhibition is based on three of the artist’s original cycles – "The Voice of My Soul", "Landscape", and "Blossoming", in which the artist vividly demonstrates love for his native land, memory of Ukrainian traditions, the feeling of home, and longing for what has been lost.

Each cycle has its own design, allowing viewers to emotionally experience the path of spiritual awakening. Ivan Marchuk’s art harmoniously combines philosophical depth with true technical mastery.

The centrepiece of the exhibition is the painting "Awakening", created by the artist in New York during his emigration as a personal act of light before darkness.

The project involves 9 museums and 19 private collectors – some of the works are being exhibited to the public for the first time!
