Maria Prymachenkos paintings transformed into sculptures on Kontraktova Square

American artists Adam Frezza and Terri ChiaoCHIAOZZA – presented their first project in Ukraine, dedicated to the famous Ukrainian artist Maria Prymachenko.  This was reported by the Kyiv Tourism and Promotion Department (Kyiv City State Administration).

Their work consists of seven inflatable sculptures ranging from 3 to 7 meters in height, reimagining images from the artist’s paintings: a red flower, peas, a tree, a sunflower, a bird, and blue and yellow animals.

The installation is complemented by an audio guide about Maria Prymachenko, voiced in Ukrainian by the artist’s great-granddaughter Anastasiia Prymachenko of the Maria Prymachenko Family Foundation, and in English by CHIAOZZA.

Dates: September 8–21.
Location: Kyiv, Kontraktova Square (in front of the Ferris wheel).

Starting September 26, part of the sculptures can be seen at the large interactive exhibition Ukraine WOW at the Central Railway Station of the capital, while the other part will be placed near the flagship store Avrora Multimarket on Kontraktova Square.

After being exhibited in Kyiv, the installation will move to the USA.
