According to the Kyiv Tourism and Promotion Department (Kyiv City State Administration), thirteen free tours will take place in the city to celebrate Kyiv Day, organized in cooperation with the Kyiv Center for Tourism Development.
Learn about prominent figures of the capital, explore architecture from different eras, and discover Kyiv through the lens of legends, events, and little-known facts that have shaped its unique atmosphere. Choose your route and register:
Tour “Kreschatyk Kyiv” (adapted for people with hearing impairments), where participants will be able to explore the main street of Kyiv, its iconic sites, learn about famous personalities who once lived on Khreshchatyk and played a significant role in the development of the city and its central avenue in particular.
Tour “Secrets of Volodymyr’s City”, during which participants can learn about the development of Kyiv and the construction of defensive structures by Volodymyr the Great, as well as the building of the first stone church of the Kyivan state – the Church of the Tithes.
Tour “Etudes of Kyiv’s Nyvky”, during which participants will walk through the streets of the Nyvky neighbourhood and learn about this historic area, notable politicians and scientists who lived and worked there, and after whom the streets are named. Participants will also see a work of art by a well-known artist of the Sixtiers movement.
Tour “European Kyiv”, where participants will get to know Kyiv’s architecture and various objects that connect our city with Europe, as well as buildings constructed by European architects.
Tour “How the Cossacks and Magistrate Lived in Podil”, during which participants can discover the secrets of medieval Podil and learn about the traditions of Kyiv’s self-governance.
Tour “Unusual Kyiv – from the Past to the Present”, where participants can discover unusual places in Kyiv and stories about the people connected to them.
Tour “Park Symphony of Kyiv”, during which participants will learn about the secrets of one of the largest parks in Kyiv – Nyvky, as well as about notable individuals associated with this area, located near the city center.
Tour “A Walk Through Theatrical Kyiv” will tell how and when Kyiv’s theatrical traditions emerged, about the first theatres, their luminaries, and contemporary masters of the stage.
Tour “Kyiv – Gateway to Europe”, during which participants will learn how Kyiv was defended from enemies and internal princely conflicts, and hear about the strategic role of the city gates, defensive ramparts of Volodymyr and Kyi, and the significance of the Church of the Tithes during the Mongol invasion.
Tour “Through the Lanes of Kyiv’s Kudriavets” is dedicated to the chronicle places of the capital and the creations of many prominent Kyivites – architects, artists, writers, actors – who lived in this area at different times.
The tours have been developed in accordance with martial law conditions, so in the event of an air raid alert, all participants will be able to reach nearby shelters.
Registration for tours is mandatory, and the number of spots is limited. Participants will receive confirmation of registration via email and a phone call.
