Kyiv receives record-high tourist tax revenues in half a year during martial law

In the first half of 2025, the capital demonstrated record revenues from the tourist tax, according to the Kyiv Tourism and Promotion Department (Kyiv City State Administration).

The years 2024–2025 marked the beginning of Kyiv’s tourism sector's recovery. Last year, the capital’s revenues from the tourist tax amounted to UAH 50.83 million, significantly exceeding the figures of previous years. In particular, in 2022, the tourist tax amounted to UAH 38.8 million, and in 2023, UAH 38.5 million.

Currently, Kyiv has achieved even higher results – UAH 34.8 million in the first two quarters of 2025, which is almost 65% more than in the same period of 2024, when the tourist tax totalled UAH 22.6 million.

Today, the tourism sector continues to support the economy and generate revenues that are directed towards the city’s urgent needs during martial law.

This growth has become possible thanks, in particular, to the coordinated efforts of Ukrainian cities in developing domestic tourism, promotional activities both internationally and within the country, as well as cooperation between the tourism community, businesses, and local authorities.

The positive statistics indicate the necessity of further restoring the tourism industry, fostering new partnerships, and directing efforts towards building a victorious future for Ukraine, with tourism playing a significant role in economic growth.
